World Day Against Trafficking in Persons

We live in a society where people are bought and sold. Every year, MILLIONS of children, women, and men become victims of human trafficking.

Today was designed to raise awareness and recognize that human trafficking is a horrible crime happening worldwide. Human trafficking isn’t a new crime, yet this is only the fifth year that this day has been dedicated to recognizing it.

Human trafficking is happening everywhere and yet many people still don’t know what it is or they don’t believe that it’s really happening. As someone who experienced human trafficking first hand, I can tell you that I came into contact with people every day, but they had no idea of what was happening to me. If the people I came in contact with knew what to look for and had helped me, chances are I would not have been trafficked for as long as I was.

Most victims of human trafficking NEVER have the opportunity to become survivors. For those of us who survive human trafficking, we will spend the rest of our lives healing from the trauma we endured.

Take a minute today and tell someone about human trafficking. Click on the link below to learn more about this day and share this blog or something else on social media to raise awareness.

I choose to speak out and share my experiences of what happened to me in order to raise awareness, help others, and bring about change.

I have dedicated my life to be A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS!
